Event plans handbook

Use this page to start an event plan, open it later, and understand the editor. Drawing objects, zones, routes, and labels is a separate lesson: Event objects, areas, and routes. An event plan is a site layout. It is not the official road-sign catalog. When you need this Use an Event Plan for the venue itself: tents, fencing, visitor flows, emergency exits, camping, parking. Use a Traffic Plan when you need the traffic-sign catalog, detours, materials lists, or post orders. Many events need both: event plan for the field, traffic plan for the approach roads. You do not need this page if you only place road signs. Start with Your first plans instead. Access and cost Event plans are not billed in credits. Your workspace still has to allow them. On Plans, the tabs are Traffic plans and Event plans. If Event plans are off for this workspace, Event plans is grayed out. The line under the tabs is the access message. In your personal workspace it reads Not enabled for Personal. In an organization it uses that workspace name, for example Not enabled for Acme Events. That is a workspace gate, not a billing limit. Workspace unavailable. You cannot create an event plan here until an administrator enables it. Email customer@traffic-chart.com if the wrong workspace is blocked. If you never see the Event plans tab at all, this account does not include event plans. A new plan is created in the workspace you are in now. Check Switch workspace first. Personal is your own library. An organization workspace is the shared one. Create an event plan From Home: Create event plan form — Event Name, Location, Start, End, Start event planning 1. Find and organize event plans

The event plans library is where every event plan in your workspace lives. Use it to find a plan, keep plans in folders, copy a plan for next year, and share a link. The event plans library with a folder and event plans, the search field, and New folder When you need this Use it when you have more than a handful of events, or when several people in an organization work on the same plans. Skip it while you only have one plan open. The editor is enough for that. Open the library Open Plans, then the Event plans tab. Each workspace has its own library, so check Switch workspace first: Personal is your own, an organization workspace is shared with everyone in it. If the tab says Not enabled for Personal. (or the organization name), event plans are not switched on for that workspace: Workspace unavailable or not enabled. While it loads: Loading event plans…. If it fails: The event plan library could not be loaded. Refresh the page. Find a plan Type in Search (Search event plans or folders). Matches from every folder appear under Search results. Nothing found: No event plans or folders match your search. The table columns are Name, Updated, Event Date, and Actions. Click Open on a row to open the plan in the editor. An empty folder says No event plans or folders here yet. A brand-new library says No event plans yet. Create your first one! Start one with New Event Plan: Event plans handbook. The plan menu Next to Open, each row has a menu (Actions for the plan name): Actions menu on an event plan row: Copy link, Move to folder, Duplicate, Move to organization, Delete Action What it does Copy link Copies the plan's link: Link copied . How the link behaves: Share an event plan Move to folder Opens Move event plan : Choose a folder for the plan, then Move . Success: Event plan moved Duplicate Makes a full copy in the same place: Event plan duplicated . Use it to start next year's edition from this one Move to organization Personal library only, and only if you belong to an organization: moves the plan into that organization's workspace. Move, copy, and assign an editor Delete Asks Are you sure you want to delete this event plan? Success: Event plan deleted . This is permanent If an action fails, the toast says so: Failed to duplicate event plan, Failed to delete event plan, The event plan could not be moved., or The link could not be copied. Folders The trail at the top starts at All, then Folders in a Personal library or Shared folders in an organization, which everyone in the workspace sees. Plans that are not in a folder sit under No folder. Create a folder 1. Click New folder. 2. In Create folder, type a Folder name, for example Summer festivals. 3. Pick its Location if it belongs inside another folder, then Save. Success: Folder created. Work with a folder. Open a folder by clicking it. The trail at the top (Event plan folders) shows where you are, and Go up one level takes you back. The folder's own menu has: - Rename: opens Rename folder. Success: Folder renamed. - Move folder: opens Move folder, for example Choose a new location for "Summer festivals". Success: Folder moved. - Delete: asks, for example, Delete "Summer festivals"? A folder must be empty before it can be deleted. Success: Folder deleted. A folder that still holds plans cannot be deleted: The folder could not be deleted. Move its contents first. If saving a folder fails: The folder could not be saved. Move a plan between workspaces Moving a plan from Personal into an organization, or copying it there, works the same way as for traffic plans: Move, copy, and assign an editor. A plan under municipal review cannot move out of Personal, but Copy still works. What good looks like - One folder per recurring event or per client, for example Summer festivals. - Plan names say the event and the year, so search finds them. - Last year's plan is duplicated, not edited, when the next edition starts. If something blocks you Situation What to try No Event plans tab, or Not enabled for Personal. Workspace unavailable or not enabled A plan is missing Check the workspace in Switch workspace , then search: My plan does not appear in the list The folder could not be deleted. Move its contents first. Move or delete the plans inside, then delete the folder The event plan library could not be loaded. Refresh. If it keeps failing: Contact support Related articles - Event plans handbook - Share an event plan - Folders, search, and the plans library - Move, copy, and assign an editor

Share an event plan

Send an event plan as a link, so stewards, suppliers, or the municipality can look at the site plan in their browser without an account. A visitor without an account on a shared event plan: the map, the plan's name and dates, and read-only Details for an area they clicked When you need this Use it when people need to find their way around the site or check a layout, and a PDF would go out of date. Send a PDF instead when someone asks for a file to print or archive: Export an event plan. Copy the link 1. Open Plans, then the Event plans tab. 2. Open the menu on the plan's row (Actions for the plan name). 3. Click Copy link. The toast says Link copied. 4. Paste it into your email or chat. If copying fails: The link could not be copied. Copy the address from your browser bar instead while the plan is open. It has the form https://app.traffic-chart.com/event-plans/ followed by the plan's id. Find and organize event plans. What the visitor sees The visitor gets the same map, read-only, with no login needed: - The plan's name, Start and End, and location in the header. - Everything you placed: objects, areas, routes, and labels. - Details for anything they click, such as the Surface area of an area. Before they click, Details says Click an object, route, line or area on the map to inspect its dimensions and settings. They cannot change the saved plan. The fields in Details are grayed out, and there is no Auto-save or Save. Account in the top right lets them log in if they have an account of their own. Export is available without logging in. Viewers can download an event PDF and check or uncheck Legend for that download. This does not change the saved legend, its entries or the owner's export preference. Map pages need export areas with a paper size. Export an event plan. The link always shows the latest saved version. Wait for Auto-save: saved before you send it, and every later change reaches the visitor too. Who can open it Anyone with the link can view the plan. Treat it like a document you would email, not something to post publicly. There is no button to replace a link. If it spread too widely, email customer@traffic-chart.com. Municipal reviewers do not need the link. They work on the plan through review: Review for reviewers. What good looks like - Stewards open the link on their phone and find the first-aid post without calling you. - You shared the link once, and every later change reached them automatically. - The PDF only goes to people who asked for a file. If something blocks you Situation What to try The link could not be copied. Event objects, areas, and routes

This page is the drawing lesson for an event plan: catalog objects, zones, routes, and map labels. Create the plan first. Then stay here while you fill the site. Event Objects catalog with Search objects and Request item (24h) on a painted site map When you need this Use it when the editor is already open and you need to place something on the map. Skip it if you only need to create the plan, export a PDF, or wait on municipal review. Those are Event plans handbook, Export an event plan, and Review for organizers. Wait until the map is ready. If you click too soon, Objects can toast Map is not ready yet. There is no Texts module in the right-hand strip. Labels go on the map with Add text. Comments is municipal review, not a drawing tab. Where drawing lives The right-hand strip has five modules when you are signed in: Objects, Areas, Lines & Routes, Legend, and Comments. Each drawing module has two tabs at the top of the panel: the catalog tab, then Details. Select something on the map, then open Details. If nothing is selected, Details says Select an object, object row, area, line or text to view its details. A selected object row opens Details with the heading Object row. A repeating run of the same object is not one-by-one clicks. Use Place objects along a line on the left stack: Place a row of event objects. Legend is the PDF key: Event plan legend. Export is a header button, not a module. Save and Auto-save sit in the header. Wait until Auto-save: saved (or a finished Save) before you close the tab. Add text is the Aa control on the left of the map. It is a map tool. It is not a sidebar tab. Layers on the left of the map lists what you already placed: Event Objects, Event Areas, Lines & Routes, Object rows, and Texts. From a row you can Zoom to, Lock item / Unlock item, and Show labels / Hide labels for that layer. Lock entire layer / Unlock entire layer locks every item in that group. An empty group says No items in this layer. A row with no name falls back to Object, Area, Line, Object row, or Text. If the plan is locked, Objects, Areas, and Lines & Routes stay disabled. The tooltip is This event plan is locked and cannot be edited. You can still open Comments. Objects Open Objects. This is the furniture and kit catalog: tents, toilets, generators, fencing, and the rest of the site kit. Search and categories The search field is Search objects.... That opens a request form. Describe the item. Keep drawing with the closest type if the event cannot wait. Need a fence run, a line of toilets, or another repeating type? Click Place objects along a line instead of placing each object. Place a row of event objects. Placed event objects are what in-app review uses to attach the plan to a municipality. Extra space uses Contain background. - Stretch fills the rectangle and can distort the picture. Turn Contain on first if you want a background color. If you click the color swatch while the object is in Stretch, a toast says Background colors work with aspect ratio mode. Turn on aspect ratio mode to choose a color. The image-fit button pulses so you can find it. With Contain on, the color menu includes Choose contain background color. For pictured types it also includes Use transparent background. Place a row of event objects

Use Place objects along a line when you need a repeating run of the same event object: fencing, cones, toilets, or barriers along a corridor. It is the event-plan equivalent of traffic Bulk signs. One-by-one placement stays in Event objects, areas, and routes. Short object row on the park — individual objects visible; Place objects along a line is the last icon on the left stack, under Add text When you need this Use it for a measured row that follows a path. Skip it to drop a single tent or generator. Skip it on a Traffic Plan — that tool is Bulk signs. You need an organization workspace. Personal accounts still see the control, but it stays disabled. Who can use it The tooltip on a blocked tool is Pro feature and You need an organization account to place objects along a line. Switch to an organization workspace such as Acme Events if that is where the tool is enabled. Paying to unlock unlimited traffic signs on one plan (Paid) does not turn this on. Feature not available for my account. Place a row 1. Open the event plan and wait until the map is ready. Clicking too soon can toast Map is not ready yet. 2. Click Place objects along a line on the left map stack (under Add text). 3. The picker title is Place a row of objects. 4. Search with Search objects.... Most used is the short recommended list. All objects is the rest of the catalog. Empty search: No objects found. Your own Favorites sit at the top when your account has them: Favorite event objects. 5. Click a type. The picker closes. 6. Click along the map to draw the line. Double-click to finish, or use Continue line later if leftover length remains. 7. Objects fill the line using the current Measure spacing settings. Picker titled Place a row of objects The row is one item. Layers lists it under Object rows (fallback name Object row). It is not a stack of unrelated Event Objects. Object row Details Select the row on the map, or open Layers → Object rows and click it. Details shows the object count, line length and leftover distance, followed by Measure spacing, Dimensions per object, Row label and Appearance. If nothing is selected, Details says Select an object, object row, area, line or text to view its details. Measure spacing Choose how the distance between neighbouring objects is measured. The two-object illustration is a schematic example, not a preview of the whole drawn row. Mode Field Meaning Between edges Gap (m) Clear space between neighbouring objects. 0 means they touch. Between centers Distance between centers (m) Center-to-center distance. The hint also shows the resulting clear gap. The minimum depends on the object's size and rotation along the row. Type a distance, then press Enter or leave the field to apply it to the map. The illustration follows the value while you type; the row updates when you finish editing. Meter values display up to two decimal places. An invalid value shows Enter a value between the allowed minimum and maximum m and does not replace the last valid setting. Both modes start at the beginning of the line. Unused length remains at the end. The summary shows how many objects fit, the line length, and how many meters are left at the end. Use Continue line to extend it. Dimensions per object and appearance Dimensions per object sets Width (m) and Length (m) for each item, not the length of the row. Use Rotate 90° when the other side should follow the line; the object count and center-spacing minimum can change with that rotation. Use Row label for the run's name. Appearance holds the visual options supported by that object type. Change the type with Change object. That reopens the picker. Rotate 90° turns every object in the row. Break one object out Select a single object in the row when you need it off the line (a gate, a gap, a different size). - Break loose takes that object out of the row. It becomes a normal Event Objects item you can move on its own. - Keep in the row cancels a break that has not committed yet. You must select the row first. You cannot break an object loose while a different row is armed. Delete Delete row removes the whole row. Delete Object Row is the same action from Details. It does not delete unrelated objects you placed one by one. Continue the line Continue line pins to the leftover end. Draw further along the corridor, then finish. The row keeps the same type and spacing. If you start a new row instead, you get a second Object rows item. What good looks like - The tool was used from an organization workspace, not from Personal. - The row follows the real fence or corridor, with leftover length you can see. - Between edges at 0 for a touching fence; Between centers when you care about center spacing (toilets, bins). - Layers → Object rows lists the run. Individual kit still lives under Event Objects. - Auto-save: saved (or a finished Save) before you close the tab. If something blocks you Situation What to try Pro feature / You need an organization account to place objects along a line. Switch workspace to an organization. Feature not available for my account Placing objects along a line requires an organization account. The row was refused on save because the workspace is not an organization. Switch workspace and draw it again. Map is not ready yet Wait, then click the tool again No objects found. Favorite event objects

Favorites is your own shortlist of event objects. Star the tents, toilets, and fences you use on every site, and they sit at the top of Objects and of the object-row picker. Event plan legend

Legend is the key that can print with an event PDF: which tent, which route color, which zone. Edit it in the sidebar, then check Legend when you export. Legend sidebar — Title, Show quantities, Pedestrian Route, Vehicle Route, Camping, Crowd Area When you need this Use it when the PDF will be read by people who were not on the map with you: stewards, a municipality inbox, a printer. Skip it if a share link is enough. Traffic plans have their own Legend for lines and areas: Traffic plan legend. Open Legend The right-hand strip has five modules for a signed-in editor: 1. Objects 2. Areas 3. Lines & Routes 4. Legend 5. Comments Click Legend. The heading is Legend. The line under it is Edit the legend here, then include it when you export your plan. Event map layers and hydrants

The left side of an event editor is map context: basemap, Dutch overlays, your placed kit, and a ruler. Your Objects, Areas, Lines & Routes, and Add text remain the plan of record. Layers do not add event kit to the catalog. Melvin and the data layers currently exist only for plans in the Netherlands, and GRB only for Belgium. On a United States event plan you use the basemap, Layers and the ruler here. Use this when you need aerials, existing street signs, hydrants on a Dutch field, or a lock on a layer you already drew. Skip it to create the plan or to export a PDF. Create first: Event plans handbook. Drawing lesson: Event objects, areas, and routes. Do not walk the full Dutch Configure BGT objects list here. That catalog is the traffic-plan article Map layers and Melvin. An event map keeps the hydrant shortcut. Event plan editor with a painted map, Objects catalog, and Request item (24h) When you need this Use it on a Dutch festival field when fire cover or existing street signs matter, or when Layers is the fastest way to jump to a toilet block you already placed. Skip it if the map is still white. Wait out Opening Map Environment.... If it never finishes: Map will not load or stays blank. Dutch event plans have MELVIN in the header. It shows roadwork context for the event dates; it does not place event objects or routes. Left tools (edit mode) Wait until the map is ready. Clicking too soon can toast Map is not ready yet. From the top of the left stack: - Select map (world-map icon). If a style has no title, the fallback is Map. - Layers — your placed event content. - Zoom in / Zoom out. - Measurement tool — same ruler as traffic plans. - Search address. - Add text — the Aa control. Not a sidebar tab. - Import GPX — brings a recorded route into Lines & Routes. Import a GPX route into an event plan. - Review tools — only for the assigned Traffic expert on an open session. Not a drawing tool. If the plan is locked, drawing stays off: This event plan is locked and cannot be edited. You can still pan, zoom, and read Comments. Select map 1. Click Select map. 2. Pick a basemap. Common styles: Cartographic, Hybrid, Light Gray. Untitled styles show Map. 3. Wait until the tiles finish. Switching can take a moment. Basemap choice is on-screen context and usually the look of the PDF. Prefer a clear style before Export an event plan. Belgian event maps can also list GRB (Flanders) as a Flanders reference basemap. Dutch-only checkboxes stay hidden when the map is not a Netherlands plan. Dutch overlays (Netherlands only) These checkboxes sit under the styles. They appear when the event map is in the Netherlands. NDW Signs Existing street signs from the national database. Not your event kit. Not a tile from Objects. Check NDW Signs to see what is already on the poles around the site. Zoom in if the layer looks empty. Turn it off before export if the extra symbols crowd the PDF. NDW signs do not become Objects. They do not count as review objects. They do not go on an event materials list (event export has no traffic materials list). Fire hydrants (BGT) The event hydrant shortcut. Check Fire hydrants (BGT) when you need hydrant positions for access, parking, or a steward brief. Zoomed out, the hint is Zoom in further to display fire hydrants. Zoom until the hint goes away. Empty at a far scale is expected. This is not a fire-safety certificate. This is not the full BGT type list. Cabinets, manholes, cameras, and the rest live on traffic plans under BGT objects / Configure BGT objects. Do not walk that configurator here. If you need those types, open a Traffic Plan for the same Utrecht streets: Map layers and Melvin. TopoRD (Netherlands only) A topographic overlay. Check TopoRD (Netherlands only) when you want extra Dutch terrain context. If the map center is not in the Netherlands, the hint is Only available when the map center is in the Netherlands. Pan to the real site. The overlay will not invent Dutch topography over a foreign venue. Layers (your content) Click Layers. The panel title is Layers. Sections: - Event Objects - Event Areas - Lines & Routes - Object rows - Texts A row with no name falls back to Object, Area, Line, Object row, or Text. Empty section: No items in this layer. Event map with content Drawing and measuring (still on this map) Measurement tool is the same control as on a traffic plan. Open it for Measure line or Measure area. Clear measurement wipes the ruler. Total is the running length or area. Measurements are a check. They are not an export page. Drawing on an event map: - Areas: Draw area (polygon), Draw area (rectangle), Draw area (circle) — in the live editor you start from Areas and pick Shape Polygon, Rectangle, or Circle, then an Area Type. - Lines: Draw line — pick a type in Lines & Routes (Boundary, Pedestrian Route, Vehicle Route, Emergency Route, Access Route, Emergency Exit). - Labels: Add text on the left. - Direction on a line: Direction: backwards, No direction, Direction: forwards. On Details the buttons read Back, None, Fwd. Full field, color, and size lesson: Event objects, areas, and routes. Placed Event Objects are what in-app review uses to attach a municipality. Areas, lines, and text do not count. If Comments says Place event objects to start a review, put at least one object on the real site. Melvin on Dutch event plans 1. Set both Start and End, including date and time, and make sure the end is after the start. 2. Pan to the Dutch location you need to check. 3. Click MELVIN OFF in the header to turn it ON. Incomplete dates leave the button disabled with Fill in a date to use this option. 4. Treat roadwork as context for access and approach routes. Draw your own event routes and objects separately. Melvin is only shown on Netherlands plans. The button is enabled in edit mode with a valid date range. An empty overlay can mean there are no roadwork for that place and date range. Melvin or map layers not showing. Export still needs an export area Select map and Layers do not create a PDF. Export is a header button. You still draw an export area, then choose paper size. Empty export sidebar: Draw an export area, then choose the paper size for the PDF page. Steps: Export an event plan. Hydrants and NDW Signs will print if they are on when you capture the page. Turn off overlays you do not want on paper. What good looks like You waited for the map. Select map is a readable basemap. On a Dutch Utrecht field, Fire hydrants (BGT) is on only after you zoomed in far enough. NDW Signs is off if it crowded the drawing. Export an event plan

Download an event plan as a PDF. Event export is its own flow. It does not create traffic-plan export maps, materials lists, or post orders. When you need this Use Export when someone needs a file: a municipality inbox, a printer, or an attachment. You do not need a PDF if a browser view is enough. From Plans → Event plans, use Copy link for a read-only URL. Road-sign PDFs, XL maps, and materials lists come from a Traffic Plan. See Export and print traffic plans. Export is a header button, not a sidebar tab. It is also available to visitors on a shared event plan without logging in. Editing the plan and its saved legend still requires editing rights. Open Event export sidebar 1. Open the event plan. 2. Wait until the map is ready. 3. Click Export in the header. The panel that opens is Event export sidebar. The heading inside is Export. Event export sidebar 4. Close it later with Close export sidebar (the X). That returns you to the editor. While this sidebar is open, the editor header hides and Export on the header stays disabled. Work in the sidebar. Every control in the sidebar Until you draw a rectangle, the panel says Draw an export area, then choose the paper size for the PDF page. Export PDF stays disabled until at least one area has a paper size. Control What it does Export Sidebar heading. Same word as the header button. Close export sidebar Leaves export mode. Empty copy Draw an export area, then choose the paper size for the PDF page. Export 1 , Export 2 , … One row per rectangle. A PDF badge sits next to the name. The line under the name is paper size and orientation, for example A4 - landscape . Paper-size list Choose the page size for the selected rectangle. Change orientation Switches portrait and landscape. Remove export area Deletes that rectangle. Export status Appears while a file is building. The line under the heading is the current stage. Legend Checkbox. When checked, the PDF appends legend pages from the Legend sidebar. Event plan legend . Add area Starts another rectangle on the map. Export PDF Builds and downloads the file. Disabled until an area has a paper size, and while a run is in progress. Export a PDF 1. Click Add area, or draw the first rectangle on the map. 2. Select the area in the list (Export 1, Export 2, and so on). 3. Choose a paper size. Use Change orientation if the page should be the other way. Use Remove export area if that page is wrong. 4. Frame the rectangle around the objects and routes that must appear on paper. Zoom so labels stay readable at that page size. 5. Click Export PDF. 6. Stay on the page. Export status walks through the stages below. 7. Wait for the download. A success toast says PDF exported successfully. Export status ends on PDF downloaded. If something fails, the toast is Export failed. See Export fails or is blank. Export PDF can save the plan first when you are allowed to edit. Do not close the tab mid-run. Export status stages The status line uses these English labels, in the order the app usually shows them: Stage When you see it Preparing export Export PDF has started. Creating PDF page The PDF document is opening (also the fallback if a stage has no other label). Preparing PDF page Capture of that page has started. Creating export map A hidden export map is created. Copying selected basemap The basemap you were viewing is copied. Copying map layers Other map layers are copied. Opening export map The export view is opening. Positioning export map The view jumps to the rectangle. Loading selected map Tiles and the basemap settle. Drawing event plan Event objects, areas, lines, and text are drawn. Loading event plan layers Those layers finish loading. Finalizing map render The view waits until drawing is idle. Capturing map image A screenshot of the rectangle is taken. Map image captured The screenshot is ready. Drawing PDF header The page header is written. Adding map to PDF The screenshot is placed on the page. Drawing PDF footer Footer lines are written. Creating legend pages Only if Legend is checked. The key pages are added after the map pages. Saving PDF The file is written. PDF downloaded The browser has the file. You will not always notice every line. They can pass quickly on a small plan. On a slow network they linger. Keep the window open until PDF downloaded and the success toast. Several pages Each export area is one PDF page. Click Add area for another page: a detail of the entrance, then a wider site overview. The list only shows Export 1, Export 2, plus paper size and orientation. Name them in your head by what you framed. Remove a page you no longer need with Remove export area. What the PDF contains Example event plan PDF page The file title is Event Plan Export. Each page is a snapshot of the map inside that rectangle, at the paper size you chose. The footer includes: - Author: the plan owner’s name - Format: the paper size, for example A4 - Made with: the Traffic Chart site - VIEW ONLINE — opens the live plan in a browser If Legend is checked, extra pages after the maps are the key you edited in Legend (Title, optional Show quantities). Uncheck Legend for map-only. It does not add a materials list or post orders. Those exist only on traffic-plan export. Open the PDF before you send it. Check that labels are not clipped and that emergency routes are still visible. Export from a shared or locked plan Open Export and choose whether to include Legend in this download. A read-only or locked-plan viewer's checkbox choice is temporary: it does not change the saved legend or trigger a save of the plan. Map pages still need an export area with a paper size. Use Add area and choose the size and orientation for your download, even if the owner has not saved an export layout. These export-area changes are temporary for a read-only viewer. Legend inclusion does not make an empty map export valid. Viewers cannot edit the legend's labels, title, layout or quantities. Share link vs PDF You need Do this Someone to view the live map Copy link from Plans , or copy the plan URL A file for email, print, or an upload form Export → Export PDF Official road signs on public roads Export from a Traffic Plan A share link is read-only. It is not a municipal review session. If your municipality reviews inside Traffic Chart, see Review for organizers. Import a GPX route into an event plan

Import a .gpx file to bring a recorded walking or cycling route into your event plan, then edit it like another route. Use this when you already have a route from a GPS device or mapping app. For a short route without a file, draw it under Lines & Routes instead: Event objects, areas, and routes. Import the file 1. Open an event plan you can edit and wait for the map to finish loading. 2. Click Import GPX in the left map tools. 3. Select a .gpx file from your computer. 4. Wait for Successfully imported GPX file. The map moves to the imported route. 5. Select the route on the map or in Layers. It starts as a Pedestrian Route, using the route name in the file or the filename when no route name is present. 6. Use Details to check the name, color, line style and direction. Save, or wait for Auto-save: saved. The file can contain routes or tracks. Separate track segments retain their gaps; the import does not draw a line across a missing segment. A file containing only waypoint markers has no route to import. Importing again adds another set of routes. It does not replace the previous import. Remove an unwanted duplicate from the plan before saving. Include the route in a PDF Frame the route inside an export area and export the event plan. Add the route to Legend when readers need a key, and check Legend in the export sidebar. Event plan legend and Export an event plan. An imported route is a drawing. It does not place event objects, count as an object for municipal review routing, or add live roadwork information. For Dutch roadwork context, use MELVIN: Event map layers. What good looks like - The route follows the expected streets or paths, with gaps where the recorded track has separate segments. - Its name, color and arrows explain how visitors or cyclists should use it. - The saved plan and downloaded PDF show the route inside the intended site layout. If something blocks you Situation What to try Failed to import GPX file Check that the file contains a route or track with at least two valid coordinates. Try a simpler export from your mapping app, or draw the route manually. Import GPX is missing Open a plan you can edit. Import is hidden in read-only views and while exporting. Route is missing from the PDF Frame it inside an export area and export again. Route appears twice Import adds routes; delete the duplicate rather than importing again.
